Marylouise Burke, Gary Wilmes join cast of ‘True West’

Marylouise Burke and Gary Wilmes will join Ethan Hawke and Paul Dano in the cast of “True West,” this winter. The Sam Shepard play, directed by James Macdonald, will begin previews at the American Airlines Theatre on Dec. 27, 2019 and open on Jan. 24, 2019.

Marylouise Burke and Gary Wilmes will join Ethan Hawke and Paul Dano in the cast of “True West,” this winter.

The Sam Shepard play, directed by James Macdonald, will begin previews at the American Airlines Theatre on Dec. 27, 2019 and open on Jan. 24, 2019.

Burke, who last appeared on Broadway in the 2015 production of “Fish in the Dark,” will play the role of Mom. Wilmes, who will play the role of Saul Kimmer, appeared in “Chinglish” on Broadway in 2011.

The play’s creative team includes set designer Mimi Lien, who will also be creating the sets for “Lifespan of a Fact” this season, costumer designer Kaye Voyce, who also worked on this season’s “The Nap” and lighting designer Jane Cox, whose work was last seen on Broadway in “Amelie.”
