“The Ferryman” is transferring to Broadway in October 2018, Sonia Friedman Productions and Neal Street Productions announced Friday.

The West End transfer, written by Jez Butterworth and directed by Sam Mendes, will play at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre.

The show was developed by Sonia Friedman Productions and opened at the Royal Court Theatre in May 2017, then transferred to the Gielgud Theatre on the West End. The show will continue its run on the West End until May 19, 2018, at which time it will have played 410 performances.

Butterworth’s other plays including “Jerusalem” and “The River,” worked with Mendes on the scripts for the James Bond films “Spectre” and “Skyfall.”

“The Ferryman” centers on a farmhouse in Northern Ireland in 1981, where a night of feasting and celebrations is interrupted by a visitor.

The cast of more than 30 and production schedule will be announced later.

Rob Howell is the designer, and Peter Mumford is the lighting designer, with sound and original music by Nick Powell.
