Commercial Theater Institute announces agenda and speakers for 2026 Three-Day Intensive

Speakers will include Tony Award-winning producers, marketing and advertising professionals and other industry members.

The Commercial Theater Institute (CTI) has revealed the speakers and topics for its 2026 Three-Day Intensive course. CTI, a national training program for commercial theater producers and managers, offers the Three-Day Intensive as a comprehensive overview of the commercial theater business for early-career and aspiring producers. As previously announced, this year’s Three-Day Intensive will take place from Oct. 23-25 at Studio Seaview and the Theater Center.

Topics covered during the 2026 course will include the following sessions: “The Commercial Theater Landscape,” “Launching a Commercial Production,” “Money, Budgets and Contracts,” “Building a Team,” “Investor Relations and Raising Financing,” “Nuts and Bolts of Profit Participation,” “Commercial Off-Broadway,” “Beyond Broadway,” “‘Oh, Mary!’ Deep Dive,” “Unraveling Producing,” and “The State of Marketing and Marketing to New Audiences.” Each session will feature a panel or discussion led by prominent theater industry professionals.

Speakers during these sessions will include Broadway producers Robert Ahrens, Jamila Ponton Bragg, Sue Frost, Aaron Glick, Miranda Gohh, Mara Isaacs, Mark Kaufman, Tom Kirdahy, Sammy Lopez, Hal Luftig, Tony Marion, Kevin McCollum, Greg Nobile, Matthew Rego, Heather Shields, David Stone, Rachel Sussman and Cynthia Tong.

The speakers will also include Broadway advertising and marketing professionals Damian Bazadona, Liz Furze, Tom Greenwald, Amanda Pekoe and Nella Vera. General managers and executive producers (who also produce) Steven Chaikelson, Nathan Gehan, Alecia Parker and Jillian Robbins will also speak, along with general manager Jovan Hannah. Other speakers will include entertainment attorney Jason Baruch, entertainment accountant Mark D’Ambrosi, TDF executive director Deeksha Gaur and booking and tour executive Temah Higgins. 

Rounding out the speakers will be producer and chair of the Broadway League Kristin Caskey, president of the Broadway League Jason Laks and Nederlander vice president of production and touring Christina Selby.

The Commercial Theater Institute is led by new executive director Dori Berinstein and organized in partnership with the Broadway League and TDF.
