“Water for Elephants” has launched a post-show discussion series. The “Tent Talkback Series” will be open to ticket holders of the 2 p.m. matinées on March 2, 9 and 30 and April 6.

The talkbacks will feature a 15-minute moderated discussion about the new musical’s creative and developmental process. Taking part will be “Water for Elephants”’s Tony Award-nominated book writer Rick Elice and the show’s composers and lyricists PigPen Theatre Co.

This announcement marks the fourth Broadway show to offer this kind of programming in 2024. “A Beautiful Noise,” “Chicago” and “Purlie Victorious” all recently announced post-show discussions.

Based on the 2006 Sara Gruen novel of the same name, “Water for Elephants” follows the story of soon-to-be-veterinarian Jacob Jankowski as he joins a 1931 traveling circus following a traumatic event. Tony nominee Jessica Stone directs the musical which began previews on Feb. 24 and will open on March 21 at the Imperial Theatre.

“Water for Elephants” is being produced by Peter Schneider, Jennifer Costello, Grove Entertainment, Frank Marshall, Isaac Robert Hurwitz and Seth A. Goldstein.
