Music Theatre International has acquired the licensing rights to “Waitress.”
The musical, with music and lyrics by Sara Bareilles, opened at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre on April 24, 2016. Barry and Fran Weissler are the lead producers of the musical.
In addition to the ongoing Broadway run, “Waitress” is in the midst of a national tour.
MTI recently announced that it had acquired the licensing rights to “The Band’s Visit” and “Groundhog Day.”
