I went to ‘The Festival’ and I’m here to tell you it worked

No one knew what to really make of “The Festival” when it was first announced on Jan. 28. Produced by entertainment attorney Joshua D. Saltman and producer and entertainment lawyer David B. Schwartz, the event would be a three-day outdoor music festival in Kingston, New York, with a lineup exclusively comprised of Broadway talent. Drama Desk Award winner Mandy Gonzalez and Tony Award winners Audra McDonald, Kelli O’Hara and composer-lyricist Jason Robert Brown were among the first talent announced. It all sounded grand, but would it work?

I’m here to tell you that I attended half of the Festival (all of Friday and half of Saturday), and my answer is yes. It absolutely worked.
