‘Gettin’ the Band Back Together’ announces lead casting

“Gettin’ the Band Back Together” has cast four of its five lead band members. The musical, directed by John Rando, has cast Mitchell Jarvis as the lead singer of the band, alongside band members Jay Klaitz, Paul Whitty and Sawyer Nunes.

“Gettin’ the Band Back Together” has cast four of its five lead band members.

The musical, directed by John Rando, has cast Mitchell Jarvis as the lead singer of the band, alongside band members Jay Klaitz, Paul Whitty and Sawyer Nunes. The show is slated to open at the Belasco Theatre on August 13, with previews beginning July 19.

In addition to the band members, the show announced casting of Brandon Williams and Tamika Lawrence.

The casting of the final band member and members of the ensemble will be announced at a later date.

The musical, which is choreographed by Chris Bailey, is about an out-of-work investment banker who returns to his hometown and sets out to win the local battle of the bands.

“Gettin’ the Band Back Together” features music and lyrics by Mark Allen and a book by Ken Davenport and The Grundleshotz with additional material by Sarah Saltzberg.

The musical is produced by Hunter Arnold, Roy Putrino, Carl Daikeler, Rob Kolson, Richard Roth, H. Richard Hopper, Diego Kolankowsky, Judith Manocherian, and Ken Davenport.
