“The Prom” has its principal attendees.

The new musical will star Brooks Ashmanskas, Beth Leavel, Christopher Sieber, Caitlin Kinnunen, Isabelle McCalla, Michael Potts, Angie Schworer, Courtenay Collins and Josh Lamon. “The Prom,” produced by Dori Berinstein and Bill Damaschke, has an official opening on Nov. 15, 2018 at a Shubert theater that has not yet been announced.

The musical comedy will be directed by Casey Nicholaw, with a book by Bob Martin and Chad Beguelin, music by Matthew Sklar and lyrics by Chad Beguelin. “The Prom” is based on an original concept by Jack Viertel.

The story centers on a small town in Indiana, where a student is not allowed to attend the prom, which catches the attention of “Broadway’s brassiest” as well as the press.

“The Prom” had its world premiere in 2016 at The Alliance Theatre in Atlanta, where Ashmanskas, Leavel, Sieber and many others originated the roles before taking them to Broadway.

Scott Pask is the scenic designer, with costume design by Ann Roth and Matthew Pachtman, lighting design by Kenneth Posner, sound design by Peter Hylenski, orchestrations by Larry Hochman and music direction by Mary-Mitchell Campbell.

Other producers on “The Prom” include Jack Lane, Jim and Cathy Berges, Natasha Davison, Nelda Sue Yaw, Kimberlee Garris, Terry Schnuck, Reade Fahs, Elliot Masie, The John Gore Organization, Lisa Morris and Joe Grandy in association with Darren P. DeVerna/Jeremiah J. Harris and Reagan Silber.

Additional casting will be announced soon, according to the press release.
