Marc Shaiman, the composer and co-lyricist behind “Hairspray” and “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” in addition to numerous film credits, will write original music for the revival of “Plaza Suite” this spring.

The revival of Neil Simon’s play, starring Matthew Broderick and Sarah Jessica Parker, with direction by John Benjamin Hickey, who is concurrently starring in “The Inheritance,” will play the Hudson Theatre beginning March 13, 2020, with an opening night on April 13.

“In terms of beloved New York icons, Marc is right up there with… well… with Neil Simon, Matthew Broderick, and Sarah Jessica Parker,” Hickey said in a statement. “To have Marc, our dear friend, writing music for this play that celebrates love and marriage in New York City is a dream come true.”
