Laura Benanti and Jason Jones will host the Lucille Lortel Awards this spring.

The awards, which are slated for May 6 at the NYU Skirball Center for Performing Arts, celebrate off Broadway shows and this year will honor Eve Ensler, WP Theater and composer Michael Friedman, who will receive a posthumous commemoration on the Playwrights Sidewalk outside the Lucille Lortel Theatre.

The cut off date for off Broadway shows to be considered is March 31. The nominations will be announced on April 3 and the nominees’ breakfast will take place April 25.

Benanti was most recently seen in “Meteor Shower” on Broadway and plays a role on the TBS show “The Detour,” which Jones created with his wife Samantha Bee.

The voting committee for The Lucille Lortel Awards consists of members of the Off-Broadway League, Actors’ Equity Association, the Stage Directors & Choreographers Society, the Lucille Lortel Foundation, as well as theater journalists, academics and other theater professionals.

At last year’s Lortel awards, “Oslo,” won for Outstanding Play and later transferred to Broadway to win a Tony Award for Best Play. “The Band’s Visit,” which opened on Broadway this season, won the Lortel award for Outstanding Musical.

Correction: A previous version of this article incorrectly stated the date of the Lucille Lortel Awards. They are May 6.
