James Snyder to star alongside new cast in ‘Harry Potter and the Cursed Child’

“Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” has announced a new Broadway cast that will begin in March.

James Snyder, who last appeared on Broadway in “In Transit,” will play Harry Potter, Diane Davis, of Broadway’s “Old Acquaintance,” will play Ginny Potter and Nicholas Podany will play their son, Albus Potter. Matt Mueller will play Ron Weasley, with Jenny Jules as Hermione Granger and Nadia Brown as Rose Granger-Weasley.

Bubba Weiler will Scorpius Malfoy and Jonno Roberts will play Draco Malfoy.

This cast will replace the original Broadway cast, which will play their final performances on March 17, 2019, one year after they began previews. The new cast will begin March 20.

Additional new cast members include Aaron Bartz, Will Carlyon, Kimberly Dodson, Patrick Du Laney, Sara Farb, Jonathan Gordon, Steve Haggard, Eva Kaminsky, Jack Koenig, Rachel Leslie, Sarita Amani Nash, Fiona Reid, Katherine Reis, Kevin Matthew Reyes, Antoinette Robinson, Stephen Spinella, Tom Patrick Stephens, Erica Sweany and Karen Janes Woditsch.

“Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” opened at the Lyric Theatre on April 22, 2018. Original cast members Jamie Parker, who plays Harry Potter, Anthony Boyle, playing Scorpius Malfoy and Noma Dumezweni, playing Hermione Granger, were all nominated for Tony Awards.
