Broadway Green Alliance (BGA) has named Tony Award nominee Anika Larsen the new co-chair of its board of directors, effective Oct. 1. Larsen succeeds founding co-chair Charlie Deull in the position, joining current co-chair Colleen Jennings-Roggensack.

Broadway Green Alliance is an industry-wide initiative dedicated to advocating for environmentally friendly practices in the theater and among its patrons. Launched in 2008 as an ad hoc committee of the Broadway League, BGA became a fiscally sponsored program of Broadway Cares in 2013 and established its board of directors and advisory council in 2025. Jennings-Roggensack and Deull were the board’s founding co-chairs.

In addition to Larsen’s appointment, BGA has also announced a new program. The organization has created a 30-minute climate talk, “No Day But Today: A Climate Talk That’s Also Kind of a Broadway Musical,” which can be booked free of charge by eligible organizations interested in learning more about the climate crisis and solutions. The talk is inspired by Al Gore’s Climate Reality Project presentation; Larsen and BGA executive director Molly Braverman will guide attendees through an informational but entertaining slideshow. “Our Broadway twist is that this deck is full of music, theatre references and performance clips,” reads a description on the BGA website. The presentation also draws from the BGA Sustainable Production and Design Toolkit and includes time for a Q&A session, in addition to supplementary programming tailored to its particular audience.
