‘Appropriate’ cancels Jan. 4 performance

The Jan. 5 performance of the Branden Jacobs-Jenkins play will go on as scheduled.

The Jan. 4 performance of “Appropriate” was canceled due to a COVID-related illness. People who held tickets for the 7 p.m. performance can contact their point of purchase for further information. The Jan. 5, 7:30 p.m., performance of the play will go on as scheduled.

Written by Pulitzer Prize finalist Branden Jacobs-Jenkins and directed by Lila Neugebauer, “Appropriate” opened at the Hayes Theater on Dec. 18, 2023 following previews which began on Nov. 29. The production recently announced a three-week extension to March 3.

“Appropriate” is produced by Second Stage Theater (president and artistic director Carole Rothman, executive director Lisa Lawer Post) in association with Ambassador Theatre Group Productions, Amanda Dubois, Annapurna Theatre and Bad Robot Live.
