Following its first week of previews at Second Stage’s Hayes Theater, “Appropriate” is extending its run. The play by two-time Pulitzer Prize finalist Brandon Jacobs-Jenkins will now run through March 3, 2024; it was originally slated to run through Feb. 11.

Directed by Lila Neugebauer, “Appropriate” began performances on Nov. 29, ahead of a Dec. 18 opening night. Sarah Paulson stars as Toni, who reunites with her two brothers — one estranged, the other not — to finalize the estate of their late father. Corey Stoll and Michael Esper play brothers Bo and Franz, respectively.

Rounding out the cast are Graham Campbell as Rhys, Elle Fanning as River, Natalie Gold as Rachael and Alyssa Emily Marvin as Cassidy. Lincoln Cohen and Everett Sobers alternate in the role of Ainsley.

“Appropriate” is produced by Second Stage Theater (president and artistic director Carole Rothman, executive director Lisa Lawer Post) in association with Ambassador Theatre Group Productions, Amanda Dubois, Annapurna Theatre and Bad Robot Live.
