Will Swenson has set a final-performance date of Oct. 29 in “A Beautiful Noise, the Neil Diamond Musical.” The actor originated the role of “Neil Diamond — Then,” a younger version of the Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter at the center of the bio-musical. A replacement for Swenson has not yet been announced.

“It’s been the thrill of a lifetime to get to stand in Neil’s shoes,” Swenson said in a statement. “It’s been such an incredible honor to get to know Neil, to tell his powerful story and bring his amazing songs to Broadway audiences every night. I’m immensely proud of the moving, beautiful show we made. I will miss it very much.”

“A Beautiful Noise” opened at the Broadhurst Theatre on Dec. 4, 2022. The jukebox musical features a score of songs from Diamond’s catalog. Written by Anthony McCarten, the show is structured as a memory play in which “Neil Diamond — Now,” played by Mark Jacoby, reflects on his life and career, as portrayed by Swenson.

The current cast also features Robyn Hurder as Marcia, Shirine Babb as Doctor, Jessie Fisher as Jaye Posner, Michael McCormick as Fred Weintraub/Tommy O’Rourke, Tom Alan Robbins as Bert Berns/Kieve Diamond and Bri Sudia as Ellie Greenwich/Rose Diamond.

“A Beautiful Noise” is produced by Ken Davenport and Bob Gaudio.
