‘Water for Elephants’ musical completes casting for Broadway premiere

The musical will arrive at the Imperial Theatre in 2024.

Full casting is set for the upcoming new musical “Water for Elephants.” The previously announced Broadway production, directed by Jessica Stone, will begin previews on Feb. 24, 2024, and officially open on March 21 at the Imperial Theatre.

The musical’s newly announced ensemble includes Brandon Block, Antoine Boissereau, Rachael Boyd, Paul Castree, Ken Wulf Clark, Taylor Colleton, Gabriel Olivera de Paula Costa, Isabella Luisa Diaz, Samantha Gershman, Keaton Hentoff-Killian, Nicolas Jelmoni, Caroline Kane, Harley Ross Beckwith McLeish, Michael Mendez, Samuel Renaud, Marissa Rosen, Alexandra Gaelle Royer, Asa Somers, Charles South, Sean Stack, Matthew Varvar and Michelle West.

They will appear alongside the previously announced Grant Gustin as Jacob Jankowski, Isabelle McCalla as Marlena, Gregg Edelman as Mr. Jankowski, Paul Alexander Nolan as August, Stan Brown as Camel, Joe De Paul as Walter, Sara Gettelfinger as Barbara and Wade McCollum as Wade.

Casting is by Tara Rubin.

Featuring a book by Rick Elice and a score by Pigpen Theatre Co., “Water for Elephants” is set in 1931, as Jacob Jankowski hops aboard a train that happens to be a traveling circus. When the ringmaster brings on an elephant as the new star attraction, Jacob must train her alongside the ringmaster’s wife, Marlena. Sparks fly and the entire circus might be at risk.

“Water for Elephants” is being produced by Peter Schneider, Jennifer Costello, Grove Entertainment, Frank Marshall, Isaac Robert Hurwitz and Seth A. Goldstein.
