Tony Awards will offer outdoor ‘Broadway Fanfare’ simulcast

The public event will take place in Lincoln Center’s Damrosch Park.

In a partnership with American Express, the Tony Awards has announced a simulcast of the 77th annual Tony ceremony. Dubbed “Broadway Fanfare,” the event will take place at Lincoln Center’s Damrosch Park on the night of the Tony Awards, June 16, beginning at 7:30 p.m. As previously announced, the 2024 Tony Awards ceremony will begin that night at 8:00 p.m. ET at Lincoln Center’s David H. Koch Theater, which is adjacent to Damrosch Park.

“Broadway Fanfare” will offer a pre-show performance. Performers will be announced at a later date.

“We are thrilled to welcome American Express as the official payments partner of the Tony Awards,” said Heather Hitchens, president and CEO of the American Theatre Wing, and Jason Laks, interim president of the Broadway League, in a joint statement. “We anticipate a spectacular evening celebrating the magic and diversity of Broadway, bringing the excitement of the Tony Awards to theater fans everywhere.”

While the event is open to the public until the space reaches capacity, American Express card holders will have a separate entrance.

“At American Express, we are dedicated to providing our card members with unforgettable experiences tied to their passion areas — including theater and the arts — which is what makes this partnership so special,” said Shiz Suzuki, vice president, global brand sponsorships and experiential marketing, American Express. “We have unlocked unparalleled access to live theater events for some of our card members’ favorite award-winning shows for some time and we can’t wait to bring them even closer to all the action on June 16.”

Set to be hosted for the third consecutive year by Ariana DeBose, the Tony Awards are produced in collaboration with Tony Award Productions, a joint venture of the Broadway League, the American Theatre Wing and White Cherry Entertainment. Ricky Kirshner and Glenn Weiss serve as showrunners and executive producers for White Cherry Entertainment, with Weiss also taking on directorial duties. Jack Sussman is also an executive producer.
