Tony Awards announces partnership with Baccarat and Basil Hayden

The French luxury brand will serve bourbon-based cocktails at the 77th annual awards ceremony.

The Tony Awards has announced a luxury cocktail partnership for the 2024 awards. Baccarat, the 260-year-old French luxury house, will serve craft cocktails featuring Basil Hayden’s bourbon at the June 16 awards ceremony. The previously announced ceremony will take place at Lincoln Center’s David H. Koch Theater beginning at 8:00 p.m.

The two brands will offer a speakeasy experience for VIP attendees of the Tony Awards, serving drinks featuring various liquors from Basil Hayden’s roster, including dark rye, malted rye, toast and the original Kentucky straight bourbon. Cocktails specifically crafted for and inspired by the slate of nominated shows will be offered. The evening’s signature cocktail will be the Basil Hayden 75, a homage to a classic French 75 beverage. Other cocktails include the Baccarat Boulevardier, the Spritz Probe and the Standing Ovation. Each will be served in a special Baccarat glassware.

“In its 260-year history, Baccarat has continued to celebrate creative expression, so it’s an honor to once again return to the Tony Awards and celebrate those in the world of stage acting who have such a profound impact on culture,” said Adam Banfield, president and CEO of Baccarat North America, in a statement. “Through our partnership with Basil Hayden, we will honor the timeless tradition and modern innovation of both the city of New York and Broadway in true Baccarat fashion — by bringing light and joy to this remarkable occasion.”

“At Basil Hayden, we celebrate those who leave an impression with their uniqueness and charisma, so it is a thrill for us to be the official bourbon of the 77th annual Tony Awards recognizing remarkable talent who also embody these attributes,” added Regan Clarke, U.S. vice president of American whiskey at Suntory Global Spirits. “In partnership with our impressive friends at Baccarat, we are excited for presenters and nominees to experience our bespoke, Tony Awards-inspired cocktails, further elevating this year’s celebrations and making it a night to remember.”

Beyond the June 16 event, the Baccarat Hotel New York’s Bar and Grand Salon, located in midtown Manhattan, will offer the Tony-themed beverages through June 19.

The Tony Awards are presented by the Broadway League and the American Theatre Wing.
