“To Kill a Mockingbird” has recouped its entire investment, producer Scott Rudin announced Friday morning.

The play was capitalized for up to $7.5 million, according to documents filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission. “To Kill a Mockingbird” recouped 19 weeks after opening at the Shubert Theatre on Dec. 13, 2018

It began previews on Nov. 1, 2018.

The recoupment comes after the play, adapted by Aaron Sorkin and starring Jeff Daniels, continues to break the box office record at the Shubert Theatre. Cumulative gross are at more than $56 million to date, according to the production.

Last week, the play brought in $1.7 million, representing 124% of its gross potential.
