‘Suffs,’ ‘Stereophonic,’ ‘Illinoise’ and more have highest-grossing weeks as the 2023-2024 season ends

During the final week of the 2023-2024 season, which ended on May 19, Broadway’s box office totaled $36,381,958 — a 1.8% increase from the week prior. Likewise, total attendance increased 2% during the week ending May 19; there were 292,642 Main Stem admissions across 35 productions. These figures marked the fifth-highest grossing week and the fourth-best attended week of the 2023-2024 season. Capacity-wise, available seats in theaters were filled 91.4% — up 0.8 percentage points from the previous week.

Compared to the same week last season, these totals are a significant increase. This week’s $36.4 million total ducats is a 10.5% increase from the comparable week during the 2022-2023 season, while the 293,000 attendances represent a 5.73% jump over the same time period.
