Second Stage cancels performances of ‘Appropriate’ due to COVID-related illness in cast

Performances are expected to resume on Feb. 15.

As a result of COVID-related illness in the company, Second Stage Theater has canceled “Appropriate” performances on Feb. 13 at 7 p.m. and Feb. 14 at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m.; the performance on Feb. 11 at 3 p.m. was also canceled. “Appropriate” is expected to resume on Feb. 15 at 7 p.m.

Lila Neugebauer directs the play, written by Branden Jacobs-Jenkins, which began previews on Nov. 29, 2023, and opened on Dec. 18 at the Hayes Theater. The production is scheduled to conclude its limited engagement with Second Stage on March 3, 2024.

The play’s cast includes Sarah Paulson, Corey Stoll, Michael Esper, Natalie Gold, Elle Fanning, Graham Campbell, Lincoln Cohen, Alyssa Emily Marvin and Everett Sobers.

“Appropriate” ticket holders for Feb. 13 or 14 are being instructed to contact their point of purchase.
