Samantha Pauly has set her departure date from Broadway’s “The Great Gatsby” for this summer. Pauly will play her final performance as Jordan Baker — a role she originated — on July 26. A replacement will be announced shortly.
Pauly previously originated the role of Katherine Howard in the Broadway production of “SIX”; prior to that, she toured the U.S. with “Bat Out of Hell” in 2018, playing Valkyrie.
“The Great Gatsby” currently stars “Hadestown” alumni Reeve Carney and Eva Noblezada as Jay Gatsby and Daisy Buchanan, respectively, along with Corbin Bleu as Nick Carraway. John Behlmann, Linedy Genao, Charlie Pollock and Matthew Saldívar complete the principal cast.
Based on the F. Scott Fitzgerald novel of Jazz Age excess, the stage adaptation of “The Great Gatsby” premiered at Millburn, New Jersey’s Paper Mill Playhouse in 2023, where it became the highest-grossing show in the theater’s history. It transferred to Broadway in 2024, where it won a Tony Award for Best Costume Design of a Musical. “The Great Gatsby” recently celebrated the milestone of 900 performances.
