Roundabout announces new directing fellow, 2023-2024 director’s group cohort

The newly announced fellow will assist on multiple productions during Roundabout’s season.

Roundabout Theatre Company, under the direction of interim artistic director Scott Ellis, has announced Autumn Angelettie as its new directing fellow. Angelettie, the seventh Roundabout directing fellow, will assist with multiple productions during the company’s 2023-2024 season. She will also work with the team as a script reader and develop an individual project.

Angelettie has assisted directors at Signature Theatre, Lincoln Center, Park Avenue Armory, Mabou Mines and Harlem Stage. She earned a BFA in theater arts from the Howard University Chadwick A. Boseman College of Fine Arts.

The fellowship launched in 2017 to provide development and networking resources for early career directors. It also offers aid to artists who have traditionally been underrepresented.

In addition, the 2023-2024 Leon Levy Foundation Roundabout Directors Group cohort has been announced. Founded in 2019, the program offers support to emerging directors. The new cohort includes Emily Abrams, Zahra Budhwani, Moses Garcia, Tramane Harris, Saki Kawamura, Sanhawich Meateanuwat, amani meliyah, Aileen Wen McGroddy, Isabel Perry and Lucky Stiff. The cohort meets monthly for mentorship and workshop opportunities. Of note, Angelettie was a member of the fourth Roundabout Directors Group. SheAs the name indicates, support for the group is provided by the Leon Levy Foundation.
