Open Jar Studios has announced a new informational platform called Broadway Resource Guide. The website aggregates industry services and resources in one central hub in order to “support the creative goals of individual artists, theater companies and educational institutions.”
Broadway Resource Guide offers a range of assets for performers, stage managers, creatives, educators and companies, including but not limited to listings for networking events, headshot photographers and printing, master classes, agent showcases, new work development, audience engagement resources and stage management software. Site users can search by a specific resource, discipline or organization.
“At Open Jar, we believe in breaking down barriers and empowering artists to reach their full potential,” said Open Jar founder and CEO Jeff Whiting in a statement. “The Broadway Resource Guide is the culmination of years of experience working alongside thousands of theater professionals, and we are excited to share this powerful tool with the community. Whether you’re an aspiring artist, an established theater company or an educator, the Broadway Resource Guide is here to simplify your creative life.”
While Broadway Resource Guide is fully available now, Open Jar Studios will host an official livestream launch event on April 30 at 6:30 p.m. ET. The event will offer a demonstration of the site’s functions and a question-and-answer period which will feature an announcement from Disney Live Events, Networks Presentations and Six Flags Entertainment about upcoming National Casting Calls utilizing Stage Door Networks (part of Broadway Resource Guide’s suite of resources). The livestream is free, open to the public and can be accessed here.
