“MJ” canceled performances through Dec. 26 due to “multiple positive COVID test results,” the production announced Friday.

The new musical, which began previews at the Neil Simon Theatre on Dec. 6, had previously canceled its Dec. 15 and Dec. 16 performances due to breakthrough cases. The production expects to resume Dec. 27.

The more than weeklong closure comes as Broadway experiences a slate of cancellations due to breakthrough COVID-19 cases. “Mrs. Doubtfire” is also facing a weeklong closure, through Dec. 19, after cases were detected in the company.

“Moulin Rouge!” and “Hamilton” are also dark Friday due to COVID-19 cases. “Hamilton” will be closed through Dec. 19. “Moulin Rouge!” expects to resume Dec. 18.
