The Pulitzer Prize-winning and Tony Award-nominated drama “Liberation” will be produced in London in 2027. Producers of “Liberation” on Broadway Daryl Roth, Eva Price and Rachel Sussman will present the play in association with Olivier Award-winning producers Eleanor Lloyd Productions and Eilene Davidson Productions. A venue will be announced at a later date.

“Liberation” will also be produced in multiple cities throughout the U.S. this year and the next: at the Berkeley Repertory Theatre in October 2026, the Geffen Playhouse in Los Angeles beginning in January 2027 and at Washington, D.C.’s Studio Theatre beginning in March 2027.

In addition to winning the Pulitzer, “Liberation” is also currently nominated for five Tony Awards, including Best Play, Best Direction of a Play for Whitney White, Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role in a Play for Susannah Flood, Best Performance by an Actress in a Featured Role in a Play for Betsy Aidem and Best Costume Design of a Play for Qween Jean.

Written by Bess Wohl, the play centers on a women’s consciousness-raising group in 1970s small-town Ohio, and the daughter of one of its founders, who seeks to understand her parents by looking back at their history. It made its world premiere Off-Broadway at Roundabout Theatre Company’s Laura Pels Theatre, opening on February 20, 2025; a Broadway transfer, which ran at the James Earl Jones Theatre from October 28, 2025 through February 1, 2026, followed.
