“KPOP” is the most-nominated show of the Lucille Lortel awards, with nine nominations announced Wednesday, including Outstanding Musical.

Following “KPOP,” “Bella: An American Tale” and “Mary Jane” each received six nominations each. This year the nominations notably selected four women, out of five nominees, for outstanding director — a rarity in theater.

Other nominees for Outstanding Musical include “Bella: An American Tale,” “Desperate Measures,” “Hundred Days” and “Jerry Springer – The Opera.”

Nominees for Outstanding Play are: “Cost of Living,” “Miles for Mary,” “Pipeline,” “The Treasurer” and “School Girls; Or, the African Mean Girls Play.”

The awards, which honor achievement in off Broadway theater, will be presented May 6 at the NYU Skirball, with hosts Laura Benanti and Jason Jones.

This year’s show will honor Eve Ensler, WP Theater and composer Michael Friedman, who will receive a posthumous commemoration on the Playwrights Sidewalk outside the Lucille Lortel Theatre.
