Grosses analysis: ‘Other Desert Cities’ posts boffo numbers in first week of previews

For the week ending Oct. 4, the 28 running productions grossed $27,735,569.

Broadway’s box office was on the rise in Week 19 of the 2026-2027 season, following sliding numbers the week prior. For the week ending Oct. 4, the 28 running productions grossed a total of $27,735,569, a 15.1% increase from Week 18. Of note, Week 19 saw the production count increase as two new shows began previews: “Other Desert Cities” and “860.” 

Compared with the same week of the 2025-2026 season, Broadway is down overall. This past week, grosses were 11.8% lower than in Week 19 of the previous season, while attendance was 3.5% lower. Capacity has remained relatively steady, down just 1.1%.
