Grosses analysis: Broadway box office dips as ‘Oh, Mary!” sets records

For the week ending May 3, the 40 running productions grossed $39,259,008.

Broadway box office grosses dipped slightly in Week 49 of the 2025-2026 season. The overall gross decreased by 2.7% to $39,259,008 for the week ending May 3, compared to the week prior. Capacity dropped by 3.8%; similarly, attendance fell by 3.9% compared to the previous week. Notably, the week prior saw six new shows officially open on Broadway ahead of the Tony Awards’ eligibility deadline on April 26, while Week 49 — the first full week after that deadline — had no new openings.

In comparison to Week 49 of the previous season, Broadway grosses are down by 16.4%. Attendance is down 6.7%, and capacity 6.5%. In that week of the previous season, Main Stem grosses were reported at $46,949,262, despite having the same number of productions running.
