‘Come From Away’ will launch a production in China

“Come From Away” will open a new production in China in 2020, the musical’s first production in a non-English speaking country.  The production, which will be in English, will be a tour beginning at SAIC-Shanghai Culture Square on May 8, 2020. Additional cities will be announced at a later date.

“Come From Away” will open a new production in China in 2020, the musical’s first production in a non-English speaking country.

The production, which will be in English, will be a tour beginning at SAIC-Shanghai Culture Square on May 8, 2020. Additional cities will be announced at a later date.

The tour in China is produced by Junkyard Dog Productions, Rodney Rigby and ACOrange.

This will be the sixth “Come From Away” production worldwide. The Broadway production opened in 2017. It was followed by a Toronto production in 2018, a North American tour and a West End production, which opened in February 2019. An Australian production opened in Melbourne in July 2019.

Tickets for the Shanghai engagement go on sale on Oct. 10.
