Lead producers Brian and Dayna Lee, Stephanie Kramer and Nicole Kramer, Josh Fiedler and Robyn Goodman, and the Royal Court Theatre have announced that “Giant” has recouped its $5.6 million Broadway capitalization. Mark Rosenblatt’s drama about children’s author Roald Dahl is 10 weeks into a 16-week limited engagement. Notably, for most of its run, “Giant” has played seven performances a week.

The drama began its Broadway run at the Music Box Theatre on March 11 and officially opened on March 23. It was recently nominated for four Tony Awards: Best Direction of a Play for Nicholas Hytner, Best Performance by an Actress in a Featured Role in a Play for Aya Cash, Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Play for John Lithgow and Best Play for author Rosenblatt and the producing team.

On May 17, Lithgow won a 2026 Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Lead Performance in a Play for his turn as Dahl. “Giant” takes place over the course of a single fictional luncheon imagining the fallout of true-life events. When Dahl publishes a controversial, antisemitic book review, his U.K. and U.S. publishers urge him to issue an apology.

The Broadway cast also features Elliot Levey and Rachael Stirling, with Stella Everett and David Manis and understudies Geoffrey Cantor, Annie Hägg, Eleanor Handley and Paul O’Brien. Casting is by Daniel Swee.

“Giant” features scenic and costume design by Bob Crowley, lighting design by Anna Watson, sound design by Darron L .Westwig/hair and makeup design by Campbell Young Associates and production management by Juniper Street Productions.

Bespoke Theatricals is the general manager, and Michael J. Passaro serves as the production stage manager.
