The Broadway Green Alliance (BGA) has announced a spring textile drive. The organization will collect a variety of textiles in the center of Times Square on April 10 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The drive provides a free resource and central location for the recycling of clothing. Industry members and the general public can donate used show and personal textiles. Items that will be accepted include used clothing, shoes, curtains, hats, linens, towels, handbags and belts. Items that will not be accepted include rugs, carpets, comforters, pillows, household items, large luggage, fabric yardage and fabric scraps.

The recycling drive is produced as a partnership with Wearable Collections, a 20-year-old company dedicated to providing accessible clothing-recycling hubs in New York City.

For individuals unable to donate on April 10, a textile bin is located in the lounge of Actors’ Equity Association, located on the fourth floor of 165 West 46th Street. Donations can made any day when there are on-site Equity auditions.

The BGA, which celebrated its 15th anniversary in the fall, also hosted an e-waste drive in November 2023.
