Broadway Barks sets 2026 date, hosts and participants

The 2026 pet adoption event, produced by Broadway Cares, will be emceed by Bernadette Peters and Andrew Rannells.

Broadway Barks has announced the details of its 2026 annual adoption event. The 28th annual Broadway Barks will take place in Shubert Alley on July 11. Co-founder Bernadette Peters will host the event with Andrew Rannells.

The free, public event will begin at 3 p.m. with a meet and greet of all the adoptable pets. Beginning at 5 p.m., adoptees will appear on stage in a series of celebrity presentations. Proceeds from the event benefit participating shelters and rescue groups.

Celebrity participants will include Isa Antonetti, Caleb A. Barnett, Melissa Barrera, Shoshana Bean, Natalie Venetia Belcon, L.J. Benet, Emily Bergl, Bill Berloni, Alex Brightman, Reeve Carney, Sara Chase, Marcus Choi, Max Clayton, Lilli Cooper, Ben Davis, Jennifer Duka, Dez Duron, Ayo Edebiri, Claybourne Elder, Emma Flynn, Ana Gasteyer, Drew Gehling, J. Harrison Ghee, Miguel Gil, Frankie Grande, Debbie Gravitte, Blake Hammond, Ann Harada, Sydney James Harcourt, Gianna Harris, Ellen Harvey, Jessica Hecht, Ivan Hernandez, Nikki M. Broadway Barks will also feature adoptable animals from 25 New York City-area animal shelters and adoption agencies: 1 Love 4 Animals, Abandoned Angels Cocker Spaniels Rescue, Adopt A Boxer Rescue, Animal Care Centers of NYC, Anjellicle Cats Rescue, Badass Animal Rescue, Best Friends Animal Society, Bideawee, Big Apple Cat Rescue, Bobbi and the Strays, City Critters, Every Last One, Give Me Shelter, Hearts and Bones Rescue, Hudson Paws, Husky House, Linda’s Cat Assistance, Little Shelter, Mid-Atlantic Great Dane Rescue League, North Shore Animal League, Pet ResQ Inc., SaveKitty Foundation, SPCA of Westchester, Urban Cat League and Yankee Golden Retriever Rescue. The 2026 edition of the adoption event is sponsored by Fetch Pet Insurance, with additional sponsorship from Tito’s Homemade Vodka and Humane World for Animals.

Peters founded Broadway Barks with Mary Tyler Moore in 1998. In the 27 years since, over 2,500 dogs and cats have been featured in adoption events, which take place every July in Shubert Alley. Approximately 85% of participating animals have successfully been adopted. The event is produced by the nonprofit Broadway Cares, which also supports healthcare, family, and social service causes nationwide.
