The type of content your ad agency captures during photo and video shoots isn’t only a creative decision — it’s also a strategic one. Each kind of shoot serves a distinct role in building, evolving and sustaining a campaign. Understanding when to use each is key to creating campaigns that are effective throughout the show’s life.

1.Seamless photo shoots

At a seamless photo shoot, the agency’s goal is to capture actors in costume and in character in a variety of poses on a seamless background that can be used to build the show’s evergreen and seasonal branding throughout the life of the production. Some seamless shoots are focused on nailing the perfect pose for your always-on key art; others capture multiple poses in several costumes that can be used everywhere from organic social to paid digital ads to out-of-home. It all depends on the creative vision for your show’s brand.

Seamless photo shoots take place at the start of a show’s life, as soon as costumes are finalized, and can then be refined and repeated as a show changes casts. These shoots typically take place in controlled studio environments where backgrounds and lights can be tweaked to match a vision perfectly. Depending on the type of shoot, social teams can also capture scripted and organic video content that can help tell the story of making the show or eventually continue the legacy as the show welcomes new cast members.
