Where Broadway should be advertising in 2026

The most effective digital advertising platforms in 2026 are not simply the ones that generate the final conversion, they are the ones that help guide potential ticket buyers from first discovery to purchase.

For Broadway marketers, success depends on understanding how each channel contributes to the overall strategy. Some platforms excel at reaching people who are already searching for a show, while others help introduce productions to new audiences and build interest before a ticket decision is made.

This is where the digital marketing funnel plays an important role. Lower-funnel channels capture existing demand from people who are closer to purchasing, while upper-funnel channels create awareness and introduce shows to potential theatergoers earlier in the process. The strongest campaigns use both approaches, allowing each platform to serve its unique purpose.

Capturing existing demand

  • Google Search remains one of the most effective lower-funnel channels because it reaches people at the moment they are actively looking for information. Someone searching for “Broadway shows this weekend” or a specific show title has already demonstrated intent and may be close to making a purchase. Search advertising ensures productions appear at this critical decision-making stage.
  • Meta (Facebook and Instagram) continues to play an important role in both conversion and audience engagement. Through detailed targeting capabilities, advertisers can reach people based on interests, behaviors and similarities to existing ticket buyers. Meta is also a key retargeting platform, allowing productions to reconnect with people who have previously visited a website, watched a video or interacted with content. This helps keep shows visible and encourages potential buyers to return when they are ready to purchase.

Across campaigns at the Pekoe Group, Google Search and Meta continue to be strong revenue-driving channels because they connect productions with people who are most likely to take action.
