“Slave Play” will bring the majority of its Off-Broadway cast to Broadway this fall.

The Broadway cast will feature Paul Alexander Nolan, Ato Blankson-Wood, James Cusati-Moyer, Sullivan Jones, Chalia La Tour, Irene Sofia Lucio and Annie McNamara, all of whom will reprise their roles from the 2018 run at New York Theatre Workshop. Joaquina Kalukango joins the cast in the role of Kaneisha, partner to Jim, played by Nolan.

Eboni Flowers, Thomas Keegan, Jakeem Dante Powell and Elizabeth Stahlmann are understudies for the cast.

Written by Jeremy O. Harris and directed by Robert O’Hara, “Slave Play” begins previews at the Golden Theatre on Sept. 10, with an official opening night on Oct. 6.

Nolan returns to Broadway after recently appearing in “Escape to Margaritaville” and “Bright Star.” Kalukango appeared as Nettie in the 2015 revival of “The Color Purple.”

“Slave Play” marks the Broadway debuts of Jones, La Tour and McNamara. Blankson-Wood previously appeared in “Hair” and “Lysistrata Jones” on Broadway; Cusati-Moyer appeared in “Six Degrees of Separation” and Lucio appeared in “Wit.”

The creative team includes scenic design by Clint Ramos, costume design by Dede Ayite, lighting design by Jiyoun Chang, sound design and original music by Lindsay Jones. Claire Warden is the fight and intimacy director.

The play is produced by Greg Nobile and Jana Shea of Seaview Productions, Troy Carter, Level Forward and Nine Stories, helmed by Jake Gyllenhaal and Riva Marker.
