Second Stage has announced three Broadway productions at the Hayes Theater for the 2019-2020 season.

The theater will start off its season with the Broadway debut of Tracy Letts’ “Linda Vista,” which centers on a midlife crisis, and will be directed by Dexter Bullard, a member of the Steppenwolf Company. The play by Letts, a Pulitzer Prize winner and Tony Award winner for his play “August: Osage County,” recently ran at the Center Theatre Group in January 2019.

“Grand Horizons,” written by Bess Wohl, the playwright of “Small Mouth Sounds,” and directed by Leigh Silverman, will begin performances on Dec. 20, with an opening night on Jan. 23. Before coming to Broadway, the play about an unraveling marriage will make its world premiere at the Williamstown Theatre Festival. Wohl will be making her Broadway debut with this production, while Silverman comes to this production after most recently directing “The Lifespan of a Fact” on Broadway.

In the spring of 2020, the Hayes Theater will see the revival of the baseball drama “Take Me Out,” written by Richard Greenberg and directed by Scott Ellis, who is currently the director of “Kiss Me, Kate” and “Tootsie” on Broadway. Previews for the play begin March 31, with an opening night set for April 23.

In addition to these productions, Second Stage will be producing a Will Eno play “The Underlying Chris” at its Tony Kiser Theater in October and Alexis Scheer’s “Our Dear Dead Drug Lord,” co-produced with WP Theater, at Second Stage’s McGinn/Cazale Theater this fall.

Two additional off-Broadway productions will be announced at a later date.
