Robyn Hurder has set her departure date from “A Beautiful Noise, the Neil Diamond Musical.” Hurder will play her final performance as Marcia Murphey in the bio-musical on Dec. 17. A replacement for Hurder has not yet been announced.

A Tony Award nominee for her turn as Nini in “Moulin Rouge!,” Hurder also received a Drama Desk Award nomination and a Chita Rivera Award for originating the role of Diamond’s second wife in “A Beautiful Noise.”

“It’s truly been the most beautiful noise for the past couple of years with this production,” Hurder said in a statement. “It’s amazing when something so unexpected can slip into your life and make an everlasting impact. … It has challenged me, and it has changed me all for the better.”

The news follows two other principal replacements in “A Beautiful Noise” this fall: Shirine Babb replaced Linda Powell in the role of Doctor on Sept. 22, and Nick Fradiani, original alternate for the role of “Neil Diamond — Then,” assumed the role full-time following Will Swenson’s Oct. 29 departure.

In addition to Fradiani, Hurder and Babb, the current cast of of the musical features Tony nominee Mark Jacoby as “Neil Diamond — Now,” Jessie Fisher as Jaye Posner, Michael McCormick as Fred Weintraub/Tommy O’Rourke, Tom Alan Robbins as Bert Berns/Kieve Diamond and Bri Sudia as Ellie Greenwich/Rose Diamond.

“A Beautiful Noise,” which opened on Dec. 4, 2022, at Broadway’s Broadhurst Theatre, follows Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter Diamond as he reflects on his triumphs and challenges, both professionally and personally.

“A Beautiful Noise” is produced by Ken Davenport and Bob Gaudio.
