“Chicago,” Broadway’s longest-running American musical, will welcome back Rachel Schur as Roxie Hart and Nik Walker will join the production as Billy Flynn on May 4 at the Ambassador Theatre.

Schur returns to the Broadway company after previously appearing in the production as Annie and understudying Roxie. She previously appeared on the national tour of “Jersey Boys” and “A Chorus Line.” In “Chicago,” she will succeed “Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” star Whitney Leavitt.

Walker will make his debut in the production as Billy Flynn, succeeding Mark Ballas in the role. His previous Broadway credits include “Motown the Musical,” “Hamilton,” “Ain’t Too Proud” and the 2023 revival of “Spamalot.” Most recently, Walker was one of the original six Phantoms in the immersive Off-Broadway “Masquerade,” an adaptation of “The Phantom of the Opera.”

The current cast of “Chicago” includes Sophie Carmen-Jones as Velma Kelly, Jacqueline B. Arnold as Matron “Mama” Morton, Greg Hildreth as Amos Hart and R. Lowe as Mary Sunshine. Casting is by Duncan Stewart and Patrick Maravilla of ARC.

Featuring a book by Fred Ebb and Bob Fosse, music by John Kander and lyrics by Ebb, “Chicago” is produced by Barry Weissler and Fran Weissler. Alecia Parker is executive producer.
