The Broadway production of “Paranormal Activity” has changed its opening date. Originally announced with an official opening of Sept. 15 at the August Wilson Theatre, “Paranormal Activity” has set a new opening night for Aug. 25. Previews will still begin on Aug. 14 for the 20-week limited engagement.

Featuring a script by Levi Holloway and direction by Felix Barrett, “Paranormal Activity” follows an original story inspired by the horror film franchise. The play premiered at the U.K.’s Leeds Playhouse in 2024 before transferring to the West End the following year. Also in 2025, a U.S. national tour opened at the Chicago Shakespeare Theater. “Paranormal Activity” will play Boston’s Emerson Colonial Theatre from July 11 through July 30 prior to its Broadway opening.

Both the Boston and Broadway productions of “Paranormal Activity” will star Cher Álvarez, Travis A. Knight and Shannon Cochran, all in their Broadway debuts, along with Andrea Syglowski, currently appearing in “Dog Day Afternoon.” Caron Buinis, Caroline Hendricks and Michael Holding will serve as understudies.

“Paranormal Activity” is a Melting Pot production in association with Paramount Pictures. Jason Blum, the founder and CEO of Blumhouse (which originally produced the “Paranormal Activity” film franchise) joins the producing team for its Broadway run.
