Nyle DiMarco tapped as producer for ‘Children of a Lesser God’

Nyle DiMarco, a model, actor and deaf activist, will be a producer on “Children of a Lesser God,” lead producer Hal Luftig announced Tuesday.

DiMarco takes on the role of producer alongside Luftig as well as Craig Haffner, executive producer Tamar Climan and associate producer Sanford Block. The play, starring Joshua Jackson, is scheduled to open Wed., April 11 at Studio 54.

“Children of a Lesser God,” which originally premiered on Broadway in 1980, centers on the relationship between between a deaf cleaning woman and a hearing teacher.

Kenny Leon will direct the play, which was written by Mark Medoff.

“We are so grateful to have Nyle as a producer on this Play,” Luftig said in the press release. “He will have an integral role in the creative process working with Kenny Leon, and the overall production of ‘Children of a Lesser God,’ offering a fresh perspective in the room and valuable input in the execution.”

The revival cast also includes Lauren Ridloff and Anthony Edwards.
