Tong joins No Guarantees following more than seven years with Tom Kirdahy Productions, beginning as an assistant and rising to the role of producer. Tong is credited as a co-producer on three Tony Award-nominated productions — 2022’s “The Piano Lesson” in 2022, 2023’s “New York, New York” and 2024’s “Gypsy” — as well as the currently running “Just in Time.” Besides her producing work, Tong is a co-founder of the producing organization the Industry Standard Group and the Celebrating AANHPI Theatremakers on Broadway Brunch.

“No Guarantees has built an extraordinary foundation for producing ambitious work and investing in the future of theater, and the opportunity to contribute to what comes next is incredibly meaningful for me,” said Tong in a statement. “I’ve spent my career working closely with artists and developing projects from their earliest stages, and I’m looking forward to bringing those relationships, that experience and my own artistic point of view to this role.”

According to No Guarantees, Tong’s appointment comes amid a broader expansion of the company’s artistic team. “We’re thrilled to welcome Cynthia to No Guarantees at such an exciting moment for our company,” O’Keefe said in a statement. “We’re building No Guarantees to think expansively about what a theater company can be, from the work we develop and produce to the spaces where audiences experience it to the new ideas, technologies and models that can move our industry forward. Cynthia is exactly the kind of producer we want helping shape that future.”

Founded in 2017, No Guarantees is an eight-time Tony-winning producer of Broadway, Off-Broadway and West End theater. The company recently won the Tony for Best Musical for lead-producing “Schmigadoon!” Among its slate of shows in development are “The Family Album,” “Huzzah!” and “Goddess.”
