A new record label specializing in producing emerging artists and musical production recordings has launched. The label, named TBIC Music Group, is founded by Jason Turchin with actor-composer Joshua Turchin. Jason Turchin is also the founder of The Broadway Investor’s Club (TBIC), which contributes to Main Stem productions, cast albums and more.

TBIC Music Group will record albums for Broadway shows, shows in development and individual artists. Among the label’s first projects is the recording of a new Broadway-aimed musical to be announced.

“My goal is to share more voices and produce and distribute music more geared to today’s market,” said Jason Turchin. “My son, Joshua, is 16 and has been producing music for the last few years, and I’ve seen the massive shift in our ability to give access to artists and shows that either don’t have the capital or know-how to produce music more professionally and economically.”

“I see a lot of paths to grow album revenue streams for artists and shows and more efficient production while balancing the need to preserve the artistry,” he continued. “Technology today allows us to record albums in a way that is professional, yet extremely cost effective, which can bring more revenue to the artists instead of covering traditional massive record label overheads.”

The Broadway Investor’s Club was founded under a similar principle. “I didn’t understand why it has to be so hard to find projects to invest in when shows may struggle to raise money. So, I created essentially a central meeting place of sorts where shows can find investors, investors can find shows and theaters can find shows in development,” Jason Turchin explained. “We have a large pool of investors looking for entertainment space projects to help fund or produce, and there is no shortage of talented artists who don’t have the means or access to produce music professionally.”

Jason Turchin has invested in Broadway shows including “Hadestown,” “Sweeney Todd,” “Merrily We Roll Along” and “A Beautiful Noise, The Neil Diamond Musical.” As the founder of The Broadway Investor’s Club, he has helped groups invest in Broadway and Off-Broadway shows as well as productions regionally and internationally.

Joshua Turchin is a performer, songwriter and musician who sang as part of the Netflix adaptation of “13: The Musical.” He also wrote the book, music and lyrics for “The Perfect Fit,” which recently released an album on Broadway Records.
