New musical ‘Other World’ from ‘[title of show]’ team to receive staged readings

"Other World," an original musical from Tony Award nominee Hunter Bell and his "[title of show]" collaborator Jeff Bowen, will receive invite-only staged readings in New York City on March 16 and 17.

“Other World,” an original musical from Tony Award nominee Hunter Bell and his “[title of show]” collaborator Jeff Bowen, will receive invite-only staged readings in New York City on March 16 and 17.

“Other World” follows two people named Sri and Lorraine as they are transported from Earth to a video game and need to race against time to get back home.

The musical features a book by Bell and music and lyrics by Bowen and Ann McNamee. Bell and Bowen’s “[title of show]” appeared on Broadway in 2008.

The cast of the “Other World” readings will include Micah Beauvais, Bella Coppola, Ryan Andes, Madeleine Doherty, Kaden Kearney, Brandi Porter, Mikaela Secada, Sojouner Brown, Elena Camp, Sommer Carbuccia, Laura Dadap, Seth Rettberg, Sherisse Springer, Blake Stadnik, Levin Valayil and Jason Williams. Casting is by Paul Hardt.

Rounding out the creative team is director Jenn Rapp, choreographer Karla Puno Garcia, music director Amanda Morton, art directors Wētā Workshop, video designer Khristian Bork and sound designer Hidenori Nakajo.

Alchemy Production Group is serving as general manager and is executive producing with Lauren Tucker. The musical is being developed in creative consultation with Wētā Workshop.
