Mark Linn-Baker will join the company of “The Music Man” in the role of Mayor Shinn beginning on Oct. 25.

Baker will succeed Jefferson Mays, who is departing the production on Oct. 23 to bring his solo “Christmas Carol” to Broadway.

Linn-Baker was most recently seen on Broadway in “On the Twentieth Century” with Kristin Chenoweth. His other Broadway credits include “You Can’t Take It with You,” “A Year with Frog and Toad,” “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum” and “Laughter on the 23rd Floor,” among others. He is also known for the Marvel Studios/Disney+ streaming series “She-Hulk” and TV’s “Perfect Strangers.”

“The entire ‘Music Man’ company is excited to welcome our new mayor Mark to the Winter Garden. I know he will be a delightful and altogether worthy successor to Jefferson, who has been such a brilliant and cherished part of our company,” producer Kate Horton said.

The production will continue on Broadway through the end of the year before playing its final performance on Jan. 1, 2023.

“The Music Man” is produced on Broadway by Barry Diller, David Geffen, Kate Horton and Fictionhouse.
