‘Head over Heels’ bound for Broadway next season

“Head over Heels” is heading to Broadway next season after a run in San Francisco. The musical, which features the songs of The Go-Go’s, had its world premiere at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival in the summer of 2016.

“Head over Heels” is heading to Broadway next season after a run in San Francisco.

The musical, which features the songs of The Go-Go’s, had its world premiere at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival in the summer of 2016. It is produced by Rick Ferrari, Donovan Leitch, Christine Russell, Gwyneth Paltrow, Louise Gund, Hunter Arnold and Tom Kirdahy.

The Broadway-bound musical will first play the Curran Theater April 24, 2018 through May 20, 2018 in San Francisco.

The Broadway venue as well as casting and dates for the run are expected to be announced shortly.

The show itself is described as an “odyssey wrought with mistaken identities, jealous lovers, romance and scandal,” with Go-Go’s songs including “We Got the Beat” and “Our Lips Are Sealed.”

The musical was conceived by and the original book was written by Jeff Whitty. It was adapted by James Magruder.

Spencer Liff is the choreographer, and Michael Mayer is the director. The creative team also includes scenic design by Julian Crouch, lighting design by Kevin Adams, costume design by Adrianne Phillips and sound design by Kai Harada.
