Grosses analysis: Broadway box office dips as summer continues

For the week ending July 19, the 31 running productions grossed $30,989,768.

The overall Broadway box office saw a decrease with Week 8 of the 2026-2027 season. As the FIFA World Cup came to an end, hosted in the United States with many matches taking place at New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium, Broadway numbers were down. The weekly gross tallied $30,989,768, with attendance at 255,560 and theaters filled to 87%. Compared to the week prior, Broadway’s total gross was down 5.8%. Attendance decreased 6.2% and capacity dipped by 2%. 

Comparing Week 8 of the current season to Week 8 of the 2025-2026 season, the overall box office take was down 8.4% (from $33,847,950). Attendance slipped a mere 0.8% and capacity lowered by 6.7%.
