The Commercial Theater Institute (CTI), a national training program for commercial producers and managers, has announced a timeline for its two flagship programs. The Three Day Intensive will take place from Nov. 7 to 9 at Studio Seaview, while its 12 Week Deep Dive Program will run from Jan. 12 through March 30, 2026 at the Broadway League’s offices. Organized in partnership with the Broadway League and TDF, both classes offer a look at the inner workings of producing commercial theater.
The Three Day Intensive will include seminars and panels taught by leading theater industry professionals. Among the topics that will be discussed are the vocabulary of commercial theater, how to analyze a commercial offering and an overview of theater marketing. Designed for emerging and early-career producers, the weekend-long intensive will also offer two networking opportunities at Studio Seaview’s Bar Petra.
CTI’s 12 Week Deep Dive Program comprises weekly sessions devoted to an in-depth and rigorous analysis of all aspects of the commercial theater industry. Each session will examine a different topic, led by a different industry professional. The Deep Dive Program is intended for mid-career theater professionals.
“The Commercial Theater Institute plays a vital role in cultivating the next generation of producers and industry leaders,” said Broadway League president Jason Laks in a statement. “We’re proud to partner with TDF in offering participants unparalleled access to the knowledge, skills and connections they need to navigate and succeed in the commercial theater industry.”
“We are so excited to continue supporting CTI and the next generation of theater leadership, in partnership with the Broadway League,” added Deeksha Gaur, executive director of TDF. “In particular, TDF’s focus is on building the diverse and inclusive audience of the future, and CTI continues to be a remarkable opportunity for the future leaders of our industry to come together, learn and share ideas about how to make the arts more available, more welcoming and more accessible as a shared experience that benefits us all.”

CTI is led by former TDF executive director Victoria Bailey and Sue Frost, and is co-curated by Theatre Production Specialists, Gillian Fu and Natalie Gershtein.
