Cast of Broadway’s ‘How to Dance in Ohio’ will reunite in concert

The one-night event will also feature appearances from the musical’s production team and fans.

The cast of the Broadway run of “How to Dance in Ohio” will offer a reunion concert. Featuring a selection of the show’s score with music by Jacob Yandura and lyrics by Rebekah Greer Melocik, the event will take place on May 20 at Palladium Times Square.

The production’s full opening-night on-stage cast will perform. Reprising their roles as the seven autistic young adults who prepare for their first formal dance at group therapy will be Desmond Luis Edwards as Remy, Amelia Fei [Yi-Hsuan Fei] as Caroline, Madison Kopec as Marideth, Liam Pearce as Drew, Imani Russell as Mel, Conor Tague as Tommy and Ashley Wool as Jessica. They will be joined by fellow company members Caesar Samayoa, Cristina Sastre, Haven Burton, Darlesia Cearcy, Carlos L. Encinias, Nick Gaswirth and Melina Kalomas. 

Also appearing in the concert will be Patrick Fanning, who served as associate conductor and percussionist on the Broadway production, as well as musicians Adda Kridler, Melissa Westgate, Stephanie Fritz, Alex Hamlin, Rob Jost, Matt Brown and Derek Stoltenberg.

Members of “How to Dance in Ohio”’s production team and select fans of the musical are also slated to appear.

Based on the Peabody Award-winning documentary of the same name, “How to Dance in Ohio” features a book by Melocik. The production began previews on Nov. 15, 2023 and opened on Dec. 10 at the Belasco Theatre. Sammi Cannold directed the musical, which closed on Feb. 11.

“How to Dance in Ohio” was produced on Broadway by P3 Productions (Ben Holtzman, Sammy Lopez and Fiona Howe Rudin) with Level Forward.
