Broadway’s “& Juliet” is set to make its German debut. The musical will open in October 2024 at Hamburg’s Stage Operettenhaus. The premiere marks the first time David West Read’s Tony Award-nominated book will be translated into another language.

The German production follows the previously announced multi-year North American tour, which is slated to launch in September 2024. Prior to that, a U.K. tour will launch in July 2024, playing 29 cities including Manchester, Liverpool, Glasgow and Edinburgh. Casting and full itineraries for both tours will be announced.

An Australian tour previously played Melbourne and Singapore, with upcoming engagements scheduled for Perth and Sydney.

A 2023 Best Musical Tony nominee, “& Juliet” celebrated its one-year anniversary at Broadway’s Stephen Sondheim’s Theatre on Nov. 17. The musical explores the idea of how life could have unfolded for Shakespeare’s Juliet had she chosen to live after finding Romeo dead.

The German production of “& Juliet” is presented by Stage Entertainment. “& Juliet” is produced on Broadway by Max Martin, Tim Headington, Theresa Steele Page, Jenny Petersson, Martin Dodd and Eva Price.
